Ok, so you want to know more about me?
My Name is John.
This is my wife Yvette (the Warden) and my son Christian; they are everything that matters to me.
I grew up in a town in San Pedro, a local suburb in Los Angeles.
I am a plumber by trade. I worked for over 20 years and chances are if you used the restroom in any building in the westside of Los Angeles, I laid the pipe.
Before that I used to purchase all the fresh fish from the docks, throw it on ice and sell new, freshly-caught seafood out of my van. I love sports, especially the Lakers and USC football.
I really wish I was more interesting but truth is, I’m just a normal guy with a family.
Family is Everything
They are the primary reason I do what I do. My wife and I are a team: I do the construction and she has the eye for design, so she picks out of the colors, materials, and finish to make sure our product is amazing for the families that move in.
But honestly there are other reasons I do what I do.
I want to make my slice of the world a better place.
Buying homes that need work, that need TLC, allows me to do that.
Fixing the homes we buy and getting them ready for the next family helps improve neighborhoods.
The profits we make from every property allows me to continue my fundraising efforts.
Namely the families we adopt each year at Christmas. And trust me, I’m no Mother Theresa and I’m not ending world hunger, but this is a cause I deeply care about and it’s something that’s grown each year.
Here’s a little video from our last fundraiser…
Why I do what I do
I’m an Investor and I believe we need to invest in the future of children in this community
Everyone has a cause they care about and for me it’s kids and families who need to be given a fair shot.
That’s why for every house we buy, we take a portion to fund the charities we care about.
This past year, we got involved with a private school in Watts, St. Lawrence of Brindisi.
Through this school and other local charities, we focus on under-served communities and helped give the children in these communities the tools to realize their potential, go to college, and have successful careers.
One of the ways we do that is by sponsoring field trips for schools for which there simply isn’t enough funds to provide for otherwise.
Here is one we did a few months back, where we took a class on a whale watching expedition.
I Don’t Hide Behind Faceless Corporations
I’m going to be brutally honest: I got into this business to make money.
Flipping houses, when you know what you’re doing, pays very well.
Often times, it’s a huge headache and a lot of hard work. Not everyone is cut out for it but it’s worth it to provide for my family and pursue the causes that I care about.
I just want to put that out there because I’m not hiding the fact that I’m in this business to make a profit.
I’m not hiding behind some faceless corporate shell in some state hundreds of miles away.
I’m here, right in the communities that I buy in. In fact, I have a storefront in San Pedro and you can stop by anytime!
I said it on our company page, but I’ll say it again. My goal when starting the company was to conduct business using the same values I had when I was a plumber.
My values are:
- Shoot straight with people.
- Do what you say you’re gonna do.
- Be fair and leave people in better situations than when you found them.
Too many guys in my industry lie, cheat, and scam to get business.
But all we focus on is…
Doing good business with people by being fair and upfront.
Solve their problems and provide an easy stress-free experience!
It worked in plumbing and it works to this day in real estate.
My Promise To You
Enough about me.
As you can (hopefully) see, I’m just an average everyday guy and my goal is to do good business with people.
What I offer is not for everyone and I won’t ever try to convince you of that.
But if you feel like selling your house for cash, either in Los Angeles or Orange County, might be an option for you I hope that you’ll give me a shot.
I promise to be upfront and fair; if what we have to offer isn’t what you’re looking for, I’ll do whatever I can to point you in a better direction and happily give you advice I’ve learned over 100 transactions.
My partner Ricky recently had a meeting just like that…
